Time with Beth - Point 2

I'm a resident alien, seeking direction...

Psalm 119:105  - "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."

As we journey through this Christian walk, we are always seeking direction for our life. As Beth pointed out, many of us are looking for our path to be lit by a flood lamp but in reality, our path is lit by a lamp held at arms length in front of us. Beth encouraged us that as we seek direction, just let it be for whatever is right in front of us. What is God calling me to do, right now...not a flood lamp but a lamp at arms length.

You may be like me in that you want to see farther out, down the road a ways. This point spoke to me a lot as I pictured carrying a lamp as I walk a dark, unknown path. All I would be able to see is just a small amount of the path. And so my focus needs to be.

So true. In our search for meaning and transcendance and destiny, we forget to live the moment God has placed us in and instead are always looking and reaching ahead for "something better." I plan to rectify that-sometime in the near future...haha.
