Love is in the Puzzles!

Today is one of my favorite holidays. I have always loved the love day. When my children were small, I would celebrate by making special foods like heart shaped pancakes or heart shaped meatloaf. I have special red napkins, special glasses, and have had special placemats that we made together so long ago I can hardly remember when. I don't like to spend a lot of money buying gifts but rather find other ways to say "I love you."  I try to find some small, inexpensive way to bless my children and this year was no exception.

This year I made each of my children a valentine puzzle. I purchased four cheap, 100 piece puzzles from Salvation Army (.49 each). Joe kindly spray painted each puzzle with different colored paint and after they dried, we spent way too many hours putting together puzzles that were all one solid color. Once they were put together, I painted a heart on them and then finished them off with some cute phrases. Then I took each puzzle apart and tied them up in a bag. Here is what one of them looked like:

Here is the completed gift all packaged up:

Hope you all have a fun Valentine's Day.

So creative and sweet. Question, though: Could they be put together with the pictures to help guide and THEN spray painted??
