Counting on God

I believe I received this CD from Joe for Christmas. At first, I just couldn't get into it. Then, one day, I came across the song "I'm Counting on God," and I haven't stopped listening to it since. At first I used it during my private worship time. I played it loud and exagerated every movement I could to the honor and glory of Jesus. It spoke so much to me because, I really am counting on God in my life for so many things. Then, I took it to my car and for four solid months now, I have listened to this CD. Slot 6 number 5. Loud. You can't help but raise your hands on this one. It is a good thing I am talented in one hand driving.

As I played this again the other day for the umpteenth time, I thought of all the things I am counting on God for. It seems like I like lists on this blog so, I will share another one with you. My list of things I am counting on God for:

1. I am counting on God to change me. Without God I have earthly qualities that mean nothing for kingdom living. I need Him to change me daily.

2. I am counting on God to be my strength in all my weaknesses. Whether it is fear or failure, or fear of failure, I need God to give me strength.

3. I am counting on God to help me work through tough situations. Be it work related or good-byes to my kids, I need God to get me through tough times. I am at a loss without Him.

4. I am counting on God to lead and guide me down the right path. It is so easy to be distracted by this world and its invites. I need, desire, and want God to show me His path and to rest in it.

5. I am counting on God to speak to me through His Word. If God shows me through His Word, I'm good.

6. I am counting on God to draw my children into a close, intimate walk with Him. I've done all I can to live out godliness to them but, I have definately failed a lot. God's grace will fill those gaps and He alone can call them to a life with Him.

7. I am counting on God to convict me of sin in my life. I purposely ask God to clearly show me my failings and sin. It is so easy to be non-chalant about some things that really are down right sin in God's eye. I want to know when I displease Him.

8. I am counting on God to provide all of our needs. I have spent so many years in such fear where finances are concerned. I have really loved this song for this area of my life. I just shout out loud as I think of needs -"I'm counting on, I'm counting on God! I'm counting on, I'm counting on God! I'm counting on, I'm counting on God. I'm counting on, I'm counting on God.!

9. I am counting on God to give my husband and myself the very needed wisdom and shepherd's heart for the lovely group of people he has placed within our care.

10. I am counting on God to open doors of ministry for me in my life. Nothing in this life gives me satisfaction like doing what God wants me to do. It is hard to always discern this area of my life. I need Him to open the doors and shut others.
