A New Planner!

This post may seem to completely contradict my last post simply because of the title...a planner. But, it is that time of year again when I must buy refills for my old planner or spend many minutes in the Target aisle sniffing and perusing through something new. This year, I opted for the latter.

I am so excited because I wanted something pretty...and I found one. Planners for the most part must be designed by men. They are always plain and usually black (sorry guys...it's just a fact). A couple of years ago, I did find a really pretty green one but alas, I decided, I want a simpler planner.

Simple seems to be the word in my life right now. And so instead of

.....this.......................I bought......................this.

This picture is taken from this particular view so you could see the difference in the thickness. Because.... simple calls for simple. I just need a calendar, an appointment page and an address book. Simple is not task pages, project pages, business notes, personal notes, goals, password and web site favorite pages, zippers and slots and rulers and plastic zip lock type holder pages. So it truly is out with the old, in with the new. Here is a close up of my new planner for 2010.

Cute huh? Franklin Covey. Target. Around $20.

Then, I also plan to implement the use of a notebook I designed several years ago for my personal time with the Lord. I had put it away for the year 2009 and opted to do a couple of different things but, I am once again drawn to the simple, logical layout of this notebook.

I am looking forward to tomorrow, Monday, the beginning of the first full week of the new year. I like normalcy, I decided. And schedules to some degree. And new beginnings...like I mentioned in my last post. Especially when my new beginning begins with a brand new, fun smelling, paper filled binder. In case you forgot, I do love to smell book pages.

Franklin Covey has it all together! My planner by now? Pretty marked up and scary-looking. I had a lot of trouble actually starting the writing in it. I liked it empty!
