The Easy Button

If only we could all have an easy button. Wouldn't it be just the craze? Life too hard? Hit the easy button. Need some rest? Hit the easy button. Feel like a vacation? Hit the easy button. Feeling overwhelmed? Hit the easy button.

Today I am feeling a bit underjoyed and wishing relief was as easy as hitting a button. Do you know what I mean? Some days I am overjoyed but not today. I have a lot on my mind and am needing God's attention to some details in my life. Patience in other areas is wearing me thin and I feel a bit on the fragile side.

I really don't want to be in this state. My heart wants to feel joy. My body wants to feel joy. That is when I thought, I don't need an easy button. I need a heaven button. Just one tap away from all that weighs heavy.

Life too hard? Hit the Heaven button. Need some rest? Hit the Heaven button. Feel like a really great vacation? Hit the Heaven button. Feeling overwhelmed? Hit the Heaven button.

Can you just imagine with me what that would be like? A reprieve with the Father. A moment with Jesus? Praises like you've never heard? Peace.

While there is no such thing as a heaven button on earth, we do have the great words of God at our fingertips. They may not sweep us away to another place, but they do sustain us through life. And the really good news is that one day...we really will fly away and no heaven button will be needed. The trump will sound loud and clear.

I've been there, done that and you're right the promise we are to focus on, no matter how hard it is, is that one day the trumpet will sound and Jesus will return for us. There are days when that promise just has to be enough. I love you my friend. I have been praying for you and I wait patiently with you for that beautiful sound.----Merla

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH! Hit the joy button! No-today, I'll hit it for you.

Somedays we need people to help us fight the enemy of our souls for getting our joy back. He is a thief and a mutilator. The fight is for the joy. Because that is where we find our strength!
